Eye-Poppin’ Jolt of Hilarity
Hi and welcome! I’m Joseph D Rodriguez.
I create crazy, slapstick comics that’ll make you laugh, howl and gross out loud. Think Garbage Pail Kids and MAD Magazine! Laughter makes living so much fun. And I believe comics and cartoons should have the following crazy quirks:
- Funny to look at
- Outlandish, impossible characters, actions and situations
- Entertaining, captivating and engaging story
My mission is simple: Create funny, gross and entertaining graphic novels for kids and grown-ups.
Wacky Monkeys
Wacky, weird and gross monkeys infest a family whose main goal is to live a peaceful life in Costa Rican paradise.
Nacho – A Texas cop who got tired of the daily grind and extreme Texas heat. Wanting to live the easy life, he quit his job and moved to Costa Rica with his family. Once there, he started a Bed & Breakfast Eco-lodge. However, life in Costa Rica isn’t the paradise he thought it would be.
Sandia – Nacho’s daughter. Jumbo ants bit her, causing a roller coaster ride of unfortunate events. This ultimately led to her new-found Plastic Man powers. She is also known as Gummy Girl.
Hi Joseph! Is this all your work? I really like it!
Hi Kim! Yes, I love to draw and thanks for your kind words. It’s a work in progress. I started recently but will get it up to speed this summer when school’s out (I’m an elementary art teacher).
no wonder you draw fantastic
Practice, practice, practice! Anyone can learn to draw, just like anyone can learn to read and write!
I see you love art
You’re right, Sherlyn! And I love to share my art with kids! (SECRET MISSION: Make kids laugh)
Thanks for looking around!
your welcome

I like monkeys. I like art. I like noodles.

Thank you Dayanara! This summer I will post more artwork on each page so come back soon!

Oh, no! Don’t get a monkey to build your house! They stuff banana peels in the walls and roof. Your house will smell soon. 🙁
emanuel

Aw, thanks Emanuel! I enjoy having you in my class. But don’t worry, you can always check here for new wacky goodness. 😀
Do you have games?
I do not have games at this time, Emanuel. But my son, Arturo, is learning to code games and will work with me on a simple Wacky Monkey game. Game development takes a long time so it won’t be ready anytime soon! So don’t hold your breath!
hi Joseph how or you XD
Hi Dayanara! I’m doing very well, thank you! I hope you’re enjoying your splendid summer vacation from school. I AM! Don’t even mention school to me! I don’t want to think about it! YUK! (Mr. Principal, if you’re reading this, then I was just joking about not wanting to think about school. I LOVE school! I’m ALWAYS thinking about school. In fact, I was grading papers right before I got on this crazy, mixed-up website that shows gross things! How disgusting! I can’t believe somebody would make such absurdity! I’m just here to report it to the authorities! OK, I’m back to grading papers again.)
Whew! Got rid of him. Now, where was I? Oh yeah, man I love summer vacation. School is so boring! Hey, I told you not to mention anything about school to me again! You’re making me mad, Dayanara! OK, that’s it! Next time you come to class, I will give you a broken crayon to color with! How’s that!
Do you know my cousin Jennifer?
Yes, I know Jennifer. I know Jennifer very well! Is she the one that put thumbtacks in my seat? And when I sat down on them they got stuck to my behind and the nurse had to come to my classroom to pull out each one with needle-nose pliers! All the students gathered around pointing their fingers at me and laughing! I counted 33 thumbtacks that the nurse pulled out! And I know she was laughing too! I saw it! I saw it on her smug face! You can’t tell me that she didn’t laugh!
And you ask me if I know your cousin Jennifer. My answer to you is YES. I remember her very well.
Hey Joseph,
Just wanted to say I love your style! I grew up reading things like MAD magazine and Cracked magazine, so Im totally into this. Keep it up ^_^
Thanks for your encouraging words, Patrice! I, too, read MAD magazine, Cracked and drooled over lots and lots of Garbage Pail Kid cards.
Now, if I can only harness they power they possessed! The world would be my clam! -er OYSTER! So would that make me the pearl?
do you have a game
Not yet, Emanuel! It takes MONTHS to get a game developed, so be on the look out when you get to the 4th grade! Don’t hold your breath!
Hey Joseph! I just wanted to let you know that I really dig your comic! You could even say I go BANANAS for it! (Sorry) Anyway, you are truly talented and I hope to see more monkeying around in the future. (I couldn’t help myself.) Keep up the great work!
Hahaha! I love your play with words, Matt! Thanks for your kind words and visit. Hope you’ll come back soon to catch more wacky monkey madness.

do you have games yet?
Sorry, Emanuel. Arturo took a break from coding because it was too confusing at one point. He’ll get back into it when he’s ready to come back to work on it. Maybe after Christmas. Remember, game development takes a LONG time. Thanks for visiting! :O)
